About Us
The Big Yellow Taxi Co. launched in 2022, is the sister company of St Andrews Taxis (established 1998) and brings decades of experience to the streets of St Andrews & the East Neuk of Fife
The Big Yellow Taxi Company launched on the 1st October 2021, the brainchild of writer Linda Holt and James Glen, a graphic and web designer. Both were inspired by the iconic checkered cabs of late 60s-early 80s America.
Headquartered in the East Neuk of Fife, where it can be hard to find a taxi, we are ideally situated not just for work in the Neuk, but also for St Andrews and further afield.
We aim to provide an unrivalled service for luxury local and national travel to suit all needs. These include Airport & Rail Transfers, Corporate Accounts, Group Bookings, Single Fares, East Neuk & Scottish Tours, Weddings & Special Events.
We look forward to growing our brand and services according to customer demand.

By using the Big Yellow Taxi Co. you can rest assured that your driver is fully qualified and vetted. Prior to obtaining their taxi licence, each driver is required to undergo thorough police checks and complete modules including;

Our Vehicles
We currently operate the one vehicle, our trusted and reliable Skoda Octavia 2018 which provides a spacious interior for our passengers. Our customers can relax in quiet air-conditioned comfort as we take them on their journey.
We always want to make each trip a joy for our customers, so besides the comfort, space and luxury of the Octavia, we also run Spotify so that our customers can be in control of any in-car music they wish to listen to whilst they ride.

Yes, we provide an airport transfer service which is available 24/7.
We accept cash, card payments (including contactless & mobile phone NFC payments), and invoicing with online payments.
No, but taxis are very scarce in the East Neuk of Fife so to avoid the stress of finding a last minute taxi, we advise on booking ahead or at least trying to provide a 30 minute window for booking with us
We work the taxi ranks across north east Fife, but we are available to travel all over the Fife region, Scotland and across the UK
