We do not accept responsibility for any lost property or items left in vehicles. We will do all we can to assist in reuniting you with your possessions. We will contact the driver on your behalf at the earliest opportunity.
In the event that your possession(s) are found; Big Yellow Taxi Co. will instruct the driver to deliver the property to an agreed North East Fife address within 24 hours – at the driver’s discretion. Should you wish to receive your item sooner, this can be arranged but may incur a booking charge.
In the unfortunate event that the driver does not find your property in the vehicle: in accordance with GDPR regulations, we are unable to provide details of subsequent passengers’ details. Likewise we cannot provide you with the driver’s personal details.
Fife Council driver regulations stipulate:
13. The driver of a taxi/private hire car shall, at the end of their shift, search the vehicle of which they are in charge for any property which may have been left therein. Any property found by the driver shall, within twenty four hours, be returned to the owner of the property if known or be handed in by the driver to any police station.
If we cannot deliver your lost property, we are prepared to return items by post for a small charge to cover costs. If return of an item cannot be arranged, we will hand in items to St Andrews Police Station.
